What is Functional Fitness?
Cross training combines a variety of different exercises into one complete full-body workout.
It involves strength, cardio, gymnastics and some impact work (low or high depending on your abilities).
It helps distribute stress across different parts of the body, reducing the risk of overuse injuries.
No matter your fitness level or physical limitations, each movement is adapted to your capacities.
Cross training is also a combination of movements transferable in everyday life: climbing stairs, carrying groceries, pick up your children, or grandchildren, putting a box on a high shelf...

During perimenopause, incorporating cross training offers numerous benefits, including improved physical and mental well-being, reduced symptoms, and maintenance of muscle and bone mass.

Cross training also promotes active recovery, and preventing overuse injuries by engaging different muscle groups and joints.
What is Olympic Weightlifting?
Olympic weightlifting is a strength sport forcusing on two lifts: the Snatch and the Clean and Jerk. The goal is to lift the maximum weight possible for each lift. It requires strength, technique and precision.

Snatch:
The weightlifter lifts the barbell from the floor to overhead in one continuous motion.

Clean and Jerk:
This is a two-part lift where the athlete first cleans the barbell to the shoulders (the clean) and then jerks it overhead.
In this class, we will focus on the basics (technique) and work our way to adding weight as the athlete feels more confortable with the movements.
